* Private Classes are available in instructor’s home by appointment. Ongoing students receive a discount.
* Group Private Classes by appointment are available, with an additional studio rental cost. Can be set up at a studio in your area.
* Performance / Class combinations are a fun and memorable activity for women’s Parties, Bridal or Baby Showers, at your venue

Guidelines for the Student
What to Wear

* Anything you feel comfortable moving in!
* Stretchy clothes
* Generally, clothes that will help you see your isolations in the mirror. Clothes that will help instructor see your isolations and footwork.
* Wear layers.
* Bare feet or dance shoes. No street shoes, please
* A scarf around your hips if you have one

What to bring?

Plan to enjoy it! To every class, bring your sincere smile & positive, supportive attitude.
In Belly 2 and upper levels, zills or veils or other props may be required. Check with instructor.

Can I register late?

Instructor recommends that you register early as classes fill up quickly. If there is room, you can join the session on the 1st or 2nd meeting.

I missed a class. Can I make it up?

If you are registered in Laguna Hills, you can make up your missed class by attending any of the other Laguna Hills bellydance classes. Instructor recommends attending a class that is at your level or lower when possible. In San Clemente, you can make up in other San Clemente bellydance classes.

How long will it take me to learn to Bellydance?

This all depends on how much time you can dedicate to learning, practicing and studying. And most importantly, what your goals are. Speak to your instructor. Practice and dedication are the keys to mastering any dance form. Women learn this dance form for fun, for being with a group of fascinating women, for a work-out, and for many other reasons. To be a high-standard professional dancer takes time, research, study, and practice. It is not different from learning any other form of classical dance. As a rule, students start to feel comfortable with the basic movements and isolations in the first 4 weeks. Body awareness and coordination of muscles that you have never used before are part of the learning process.

When can I move up a level?

Sessions are broken into 4, 5 and 6-week units because it is difficult in this busy age for women to commit to longer sessions. It does not mean that the instructor expects you to learn everything in 4, 5 or 6 weeks! Instructor recommends repeating classes as you like. You will not be bored. For instance, Belly Dance I will review material, and will cover new material every session. The instructor encourages feedback and dialogue. Students are encouraged to continuously progress and enjoy every moment of their dancing. Move up when you feel totally comfortable and polished with all the moves & concepts you’re working on in your current level. It is best for most people to feel comfortable, yet the class should be somewhat challenging.
